What we do

This internship will start in late August/early Sept for a period of 4-6 months.

This is a paid internship. We pay €1,850/month for the first 4 months of the internship and €2,000/month for any remaining months (subject to the length of internship).

Briink is a mission driven organization working at the intersection of Climate Tech and AI. We believe Natural Language Processing (NLP) in combination with design can play a crucial role in accelerating the adoption and impact of sustainable finance policy, helping companies across all industries make more sustainable decisions and access the green capital needed to hit their net zero targets. 

Our SaaS platform harnesses NLP to help investors and companies navigate and implement sustainable finance regulations like the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and the EU Taxonomy in a state-of-the-art user experience, removing the significant cost and time barriers to reporting, while unlocking access to green funding in the process.

Backed by Merantix AG, we are building Briink within a leading ecosystem of data scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs at the AI Campus. You will be joining an experienced founding team with backgrounds in engineering, machine learning, law, design, and sustainability as well as previous venture and consulting experience in the LegalTech, RegTech, and NLP space.

Your role

We are looking for a highly motivated Design Intern with an aesthetic eye and a passion for visual excellence, who will help us to sharpen our brand and create a beautiful and useable platform with an outstanding user experience. You will work in close cooperation with Tim, our Head of Design, as well as our marketing, product, and business development team members.

What you will be doing:

Joining as our Design Intern, you will …

  • transform product briefings into beautiful and thought through UI layouts and prototypes in Figma

  • co-create and collaborate with Tim, our Head of Design, to ideate and iterate on solutions that provide value to our users

  • exchange about insights from product discovery with our business development team, product owner, and marketing team to define and discuss assumptions that will guide the product development decision-making process

  • work closely with our engineers to handover layouts and co-create enjoyable and usable state-of-the-art solutions for the UI 

  • take care that our Figma UI kit, component library and modules are build in a smart way and stays well organized 

  • work in sprints and participate actively in our sprint meetings

  • organize yourself with the help of clickup tickets with the support of our product owner to align on goals and requirements and to document your outcomes

  • co-create and iterate on our Brand Design, develop a Style Guide and enable the team to deliver brand aligned aesthetic output 

  • help our business development and marketing teams to produce social media content, slide decks, white papers and similar material at a high quality, aligned with our Brand Guidelines

  • provide layouts for the re-design of our website and help to maintain and improve it continuously

  • present and discuss your ideas, layouts and assets for marketing to the team

Your profile

  • A graphic, interface, visual or UI design education

  • Passion for style excellence and visual design

  • First experience designing beautiful user interfaces (UI)

  • Understanding briefings and delivering on brief

  • Asking for help in case of overload, uncertainty or open questions

  • Experience with Figma 

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies and working in Sprints;

  • You are curious, pragmatic and can bring a new perspective to our team;

  • Fluent in English;

  • Located in Berlin or willing to relocate to Berlin for the internship;

  • A problem solving mindset, assumption-driven in case of missing requirements;

  • Ambition to closely collaborate with the whole team to validate and adopt your results;

  • Desire to learn new things and to think outside the box

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge about HTML, CSS, database, usability, accessibility

  • Experience with web design;

  • Experience with other design tools (Sketch, XD) 

  • Experience with webflow and/or keynote;

  • Expertise in video recording and editing;

  • German-language proficiency; 

  • An interest in AI, machine learning, sustainability and Natural Language Processing.
